Record Hammerhead Shark
On May 23 in Boca Bay, off of the coast of Florida, an amazing hammerhead was found. The shark was a Giant Hammerhead, and weighed 1200 pounds and measured just 14.5 feet, the reason for which lay in the animals’ uterus. This shark was carrying a record 55 pups, the most any scientists have ever seen. The shark was estimated to be around 40 years old, and was just about ready to give birth. On a pleasant note, the fisherman’s catch will now allow scientists to learn more about this amazing creature. However, it is unfortunate that so many pups were not born.
